IMBB #25 Stale Bread: Napkin Olive Dumplings

Derrik at An Obsession With Food (And Wine) chose Give Us This Day Yesterday's Bread for this month's IMBB.

I keep always stale bread in the freezer, to use it for Frikadellen - meatballs or add it to pumpernickel, which needs stale bread. But this time I decided to use it for a dish I've never made before. In the North of Germany Serviettenknödel - Napkin dumplings are not very common. But for this event I want to give
Napkin Olive Dumplings
a try.

You can eat it as a side dish (e.g. together with meat) or as a main dish with vegetables.

Something I found

Hi Ulrike!

I just realized I don't have your actual email address; we've only communicated via comments!

Today, I purchased a bag of hard licorice candies, shaped like cats...Katjes Kinder. I was wondering how popular they are over there?

Those look wonderful. My husband is Czech-American, so I fix a lot of dumplings. I will make those for sure. They look perfect.

Looks good!

These look great! Thanks for participating.
