Wow, when I Googled this I really didn't expect to find anything! My father gave me a recipe for braune kuchen that calls for cassia buds. After a bit of searching, I found a source for them and tried to make the cookies without really knowing how thick or how crisp to make them. Thanks for the photos. I wonder what is "potash."
